Why wouldn't I want to use my insurance?

​​​​Self-pay can serve as an opportunity for further privacy and control of your

mental health care. 

Mental health diagnoses disclosures are required by insurance for reimbursement, and this record can become an obstacle, such as higher insurance premiums or difficulties securing certain jobs.

Private pay therapy allows for the focus of therapy to be redirected from labeling a mental health disorder, to prioritizing the needs for support and tools through therapy. Instead, private pay allows for therapy to not overly pathologize the normal human experience, especially when exploring grief, loss, and adjustment.

 

Most importantly, the rates of Beneath the Mango Tree Therapy are reflective of Dana's expertise in the field of grief and chronic disease management, and the systems, stressors, and skills related to the needs of these challenges. The experience as a patient in tis practice is to have your sessions to feel tailored to your needs and to be uniquely understood for this chapter of your journey.

Couple's and Family session: $20​​0+​

Group Session: $50

  • Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance

  • Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

  3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.

  4. You get reimbursed by insurance!           Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.
